I Crave Postal 4 Co-op

I was late on the Postal 2 bandwagon. Sometimes I loaded it up on steam and terrorised innocent civilians with a taser or gasoline, but I never fully experienced the game until recently. Postal 2 is an engaging and hilarious experience that is full of satire, black comedy, and exciting gameplay. With tons of exploration in creative environments, fast-paced action, and intuitive controls, it is wrong to assume Postal 2 is just a one trick pony. Running With Scissors was and continues to be an innovative game development company. After finishing Postal 2, Paradise Lost, Postal Redux, and skipping Postal 3 (obviously), I am now onto Postal 4, which is currently in early access. While I find this game widely entertaining like its predecessors, I am desperately craving one of its upcoming features.
Cooperative gameplay (co-op) is a feature that has been announced for Postal 4, but currently has no set date of release. There are a couple reasons why I am uncontrollably excited about playing the game with others. One of the reasons is that I will be able to replay weekdays with my friends in countless creatively destructive ways. I have already purchased multiple gift copies of the game for friends so that when co-op gets released, there will never be a dull moment in my Discord server. A multiplayer feature is the exact kind of thing that will get people who are on the fence about the game to be completely hooked.
The other reason why I am hyped for co-op to be released is because of the massive popularity boost that the game will receive due to the feature. The social media potential in being able to play with your friends in the new Postal instalment is endless. There is sure to be a large uptick in Youtubers and Twitch streamers playing the title, and it will probably trend on Twitter for something that people who don’t understand satire will find offensive. I have a newfound love for Postal, and the fact that another generation will be roped into learning about such an important gaming franchise is exciting.
There is no definite date for the co-op feature and the game still has a long way until it is out of early access. There is also a lot of fantastic upcoming content from Running With Scissors in the works, like the Friday update (the Thursday update was recently released), and the game Postal: Brain Damaged that will come out sometime in 2021. Until then, I am going to read my signed copy of the book about Postal by Brock Wilbur and Nathan Rabin (yes, I am that obsessed).
