Australia has always had a solid video game and VR industry, with some of the most popular Australian releases including Hand of Fate, Hollow Knight, Fruit Ninja, Richie's Plank Experience, LA Noir, Bioshock and even Untitled Goose Game. The quality and calibre of Australian titles are extremely high, with a surprising lack of international recognition on where they were developed. I want to bring two amazing Queensland game titles to your attention, both of which (like Runaway Mage) were recipients of the Game development and marketing grant, awarded by Screen Queensland. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the game devs behind the games previously listed as well as the two chosen titles, and can easily say they are some of the most underrated Indie games released or currently in the works.

Unpacking - Witch Beam Games

Unpacking is a delightfully satisfying game aimed at those craving additional organisation in their lives. You are given the ability to unpack boxes in different rooms within your house and decorate, design, and arrange items however you please with a ridiculously relaxing soundtrack. The story within this game is heart-warming with reference to the nostalgia of the 90's with the game showcasing one of the newer game genres, satisfying games. The beautiful and aesthetically charming pixel game really caters to those playing games to relax and unwind.

The game is currently being developed by Witch Beam Games, located in Brisbane Australia, and is set to release some time this year.

Dance Collider - Emerge Worlds

Dance Collider is a VR dance and rhythm game with a competitive nature and even a dance editor. With global leaderboards and many different songs to play, Dance collider allows for players to complete against each other to showcase the best dance moves in VR. If you enjoy Beat Sabre, this is definitely another game you should seriously invest in.

Dance collider was developed by Emerge Worlds, stationed in Brisbane Australia. The game is currently available on Steam, Oculus and Oculus Quest store.

Emerge Worlds is also currently developing the title Dros. The development process is being documented on social media and I highly recommend following !!
